Jock itch is a fungal infection which affects both men and women. The fungus known trichophyton rubrum causes the jock itch. Although groin is the most affected part, it also occurs on the other parts of the body such as buttocks, genital areas and thighs.
Some experts believe that it is more common in men while others believe it equally affects men and women.
Jock itch is bothersome, itchy and very uncomfortable. It is sometimes very embarrassing as well.
1. Alcohol and Boric Acid
Make a thin paste of alcohol and boric acid and apply to the affected area once a day. You will feel some burning sensation for a few minutes. It soothes the itch immediately and kills the fungal infection.
2. Corn Starch
It works great for jock itch as well as nappy rash. Take a shower and wipe-off the water with clean towel. Apply the starch thinly on the whole area.
Repeat twice a day. You will see results in around three days.
Once healed, apply now and then to prevent recurring.
3. Keep Your Groin Clean and Dry
Bacteria thrive in warm and wet conditions. Groins sweat more easily which provides a suitable environment for bacterial growth.
It is, therefore, very important to clean the area regularly and keep it dry at all times.
You may also use hair dryer or fan to dry, especially after shower.
4. Use Cotton Underwear
Cotton is soft and comfortable as compared to other materials. It is does not irritate when in contact with sensitive skin.

Tea tree oil has great anti-bacterial and antifungal properties. It kills the infection naturally without causing any harm.
Apply a few drops on a cotton ball and then gently rub the cotton ball on to the affected area.
It is recommended to buy organic tea tree oil. It smells very strong but is very effective.
7. Garlic and Honey Paste
Honey and garlic both have antibacterial properties.
Crush a clove of garlic and mix it with one tablespoon of organic honey.
Apply the paste directly to the area.
You may also eat garlic and honey to internally kill the infection.
Spread the honey and garlic on a bread and eat first thing in the morning. Do not eat garlic on its own as it inflames and is not recommended. Always apply on a toast, mix it with honey or in a drink of your choice.
8. Olive Oil and Honey
Mix one tablespoon of honey and an equal amount of extra virgin olive oil to make a paste. Apply the paste to the area. Repeat twice a day.

Speak Your Mind
Thank you for the helpful tips. I am women who suffered the horrible jock itch around my thighs, groins, genital areas and even my bum. I feel it a lot embarrassing, painful, frustrating and depressing. I am, otherwise, young and attractive.
The doctor prescription have not worked and I am thinking to give a go to some of the tips mentioned here. AS I am not very good at making home remedies and concoction, I want to try the homeopathic formula.
My questions are:
Where can I buy the h-jock itch homeopathic formula?
My other question is: how long does it take to work? I want immediate results.
I tried the apple cider vinegar as mentioned here but it did not work. I read other people have success with ACV. However, it failed in my case.
My case is quite severe so it might be the reason that ACV is not effective. I tried the garlic and honey paste last week and have seen a very good improvement.I had manuka honey at home ready to make a quick remedy.
J Relton Says:
You mention alcohol, boric acid and baby wipes under natural remedies. I do not class them as natural because they contains chemicals. Yes, they are home remedies but not natural. My 2 cents. Hope you don’t find my comment offending!
Let me chime in here. I am telling you something which really works. Try the garlic and honey remedy. It burns for the first few minutes and you will want to wash but do not wash until the itch disappears. After a few application, you will find some marked improvement.
I have not tried the homeopathic formula suggested here, but I have used some other products of Amoils.com Natural Healing Oil and they are great. They work. I would like to try their new H-beard to see if thickens my beard.
Sorry it is a bit irrelevant.
Over the counter products are nothing but marketing tactics and sales tricks. I won’t buy any of them unless I know they are guaranteed to work.
If a product does not offer money back guarantee, then it means it does not work and it is a rip off. so do not go for anything claiming natural, homeopathic, herbal etc. unless it offers guarantee.
As far as I know H-jock Itch Homeopathic formula comes with 90 days money back guarantee. I had a quick chat with the online chat on their site. The lady was very helpful. I have not yet ordered it by may do so this Friday when I get paid.
Can anybody post a link to the homeopathic formula you lot are talking about?
