How to get glowing skin at home

To get a clear and soft skin is a dream of many people especially women and young girls.

I am going to show you a couple of natural, safe and home based methods which help you to get a clear, soft and glowing skin.

 First thing first!

The most important step to get a glowing skin is cleansing and the use of appropriate cleansing method suitable for each type of skin.

There are different types of skin such as:

  • Dry
  • Oily
  • Mixed
  • And Normal

Each skin type needs to be treated by methods appropriate to that type.

Dry skin

If you skin is dry, it may suffer from roughness, itching and irritation.

For this type of skin, use a cleanser that contains moisturizer to reduce dryness and roughness.

Here are some simple and natural methods to keep your dry skin moisturized and hydrated.

  1. Natural Rose Water
  2. Yogurt and Lemon Mix

Using any of these on a daily basis will act as natural moisturizer to keep you skin clean, moist, soft and glowing.

Oily Skin

Oily skin may have several issues as the excess oils may cause acne, wide pores and even irritation. Choosing the right cleanser for the oily skin can reduce the excess oils without making it dry or dehydrated.

Generally, people think that you do not need any moisturizer for an oily skin. But…this is not correct!

Use a daily moisturizer for the skin to keep it fresh, glowing and soft. It will also help in reducing other problems such as age spots, acne and wide pores.

Using oil free lotions for such skin will do the trick. Natural moisturizers such as rose water also works wonders.

Another trick is to avoid washing your face with warm water. Instead use cold water to close the pores. This helps to prevent discharge of excess oils, accumulation of dust and bacteria getting inside the pores.

Normal Skin

Just like the other types, it is important to use the right type of cleanser for normal skin. .

The following can be used on normal skin to keep it fresh, glowing and soft.

  • Olive Oil
  • Organic coconut oil
  • Hump seed oil
  • Cucumber
  • Beeswax

Avoid exposing your skin to direct sunrays. Using sunscreen with a protection rate higher than 50%, especially at peak time, is recommended. It will protect your skin from the harmful ultra-violet rays which may lead to skin cancer.

Lemon

Lemon is one of the best things that you can use to get glowing skin. It contains citric acid which helps keep the skin glowing and sparkling. Lemon also contains Vitamin C which helps in reducing dark spots on the skin.

Just squeeze out an organic fresh lemon and apply the juice to your face and neck. Wash after 10 minutes with lukewarm water.

Your next best cure is cucumber.

You can rub it directly onto your skin. But for best results apply lemon juice and then rub cucumber juice gently on to your skin.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is another best home and natural remedy for glowing skin. It not only acts as a natural and effective anti-bacterial ingredient, it also nourishes the skin.

For best results apply a thin layer onto your skin, let it dry and then wash with lukewarm water.

Turmeric

Turmeric is an amazing herb which can be orally consumed in the form of adding it as a spice to your food. For external applications, it is an amazing face masks.

Just mix a spoon of turmeric with milk to form a paste. To make the paste thicker and sticky you can add gram flour. Apply the paste to your face and neck. Once the paste is dry, wash it with lukewarm water.

You don’t have to do it everyday. Once a week should be enough to make your skin smooth, glowing and remove scars.

Baking Soda

Baking Soda is a common kitchen ingredient. Apart from so many other uses, it works wonders on the skin. It balances the skin PH and works as an exfoliating agent. Mix a tablespoon of baking soda with water or lemon juice and apply a thin mask to your skin.

Wash when it is dry with lukewarm water.

Mint

Mint contains menthol which has a soothing effect on the skin. Crush some fresh mint leaves in a blender and mix with organic yogurt. Apply the paste evenly to your skin and leave it to dry. Wash after half an hour with warm water.
