Rosacea can be triggered by moisture, in which the skin becomes irritated due to the salts in humid climates. Applying lavender essential oil diluted with distilled water may produce a cooling effect and reduce inflammation. Always test a small patch of skin before applying any essential oil to prevent allergic reaction.
The Wind and Sun
Skin dryness caused by wind and sun may trigger rosacea. Add 14 drops of lavender essential oil to 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil to create a barrier to nourish and balance the skin tone and reduce inflammation.
Add a few drops of the oil in to hot water. Wraparound your head with a towel and hold your face over the steam for a few minutes. This will soften the pores, reduce inflammation and kill the bacteria. Make sure you do not get too close to avoid burning. Also be sure to avoid the hot water touching any part of the body.
