18 Natural and Home Remedies for the Treatment of Warts

These home remedies have been suggested by users, taken from alternative health books or related by people with anecdotal evidence. These have not been verified and may or may not have any supportive scientific proof. We only recommend to use herbal remedies which are safe and must consult your doctor if you have any medical concerns.

1. Sodium Bi-Carbonate and Vinegar

  1.  Cover the warts with Bi-carb powder.
  2. Apply a few drops of apple cider vinegar.
  3.  Leave them for 15 minutes
  4. Wash with lukewarm water
  5.  Repeat 3 to 4 times a day.

2. Onion Liquid Extract

  1.  Cut an onion in to small pieces.
  2. Make a paste.
  3. Apply the paste to the warts directly.
  4. Leave it for as long as you can

 3. Apply Aloe Vera Juice

This is one of the most successful treatment of Common wart (Verruca vulgaris). It takes a bit longer than other remedies, but it is the most natural and safer method. Just apply the gel or juice directly on the warts and leave it to dry. Repeat a few times daily.

  1. Cut a raw and fresh potatoes into half.
  2. Rub the cut side of the potatoes on the plantar warts.
  3. Rub unless the warts are proper soaked in the potatoes’ juice.
  4. Repeat twice a day.

5. Peel of an Orange

  1.  Peel an orange.
  2. Squeeze out the juice and apply it to the warts.
  3. Alternatively rub the warts directly with peeling.
  4. Repeat twice a day.
  5. Allow two weeks to see the results.

6. Using Nail Polish

This method is quite popular and people report many success stories. We, however, do not recommend it as nail polish contains chemicals and is no good to be used on the skin.

  1.  Apply the nail polish generously on the affected area.
  2. Let the nail polish dry.
  3. Wash with lukewarm water
  4. Repeat twice a day.

7. Trick of Raw Garlic

Garlic is one of the most powerful natural anti-biotic. It has many health benefits including the removal of Flat wart (Verruca plana).

  1. Cut a clove of garlic into small pieces.
  2. Make a thin paste of the pieces.
  3. Apply to the warts.
  4. Repeat daily only once.

Make sure that garlic paste is applied only to the warts and not the clear skins as it may cause blisters.

9. Inside of Banana Peel

Banana is rich in potassium and have several healing properties.

Peel a banana and apply the inside of the peel on the Genital wart (venereal wart, Condyloma acuminatum, Verruca acuminata). It is better to bandage it after application so the peel remains in contact with the warts. This method works effectively and is comparatively faster.

9. Using Vitamin C

  1. Crush a tablet of vitamin C into fine powder.
  2. Apply the powder to the affected area.
  3. Use a few drops of apple cider vinegar over the powder.

10. Treatment from the Yard

  1. Get a dandelion from you yard.
  2. Squeeze the stem to extract the juice.
  3.  Apply the juice to the warts.

11. Tea Tree Oil

Tea Tree Oil is antiseptic and antibacterial and is an effective way of Periungual wart removal.

  1. Dip a Q-tip in the essential tea tree oil.
  2. Apply the tip to the warts until they are soaked
  3. Repeat twice a day

12. Freeze them at Home

  1. Buy dry ice.
  2. Smash the bag to make break the ice into small chunks.
  3. Apply the ice pieces to the warts and press hard.
  4. Hold as long as you can withstand.
  5. Repeat twice a day.

13. Aspirin and Alcohol Paste

  1. Crush aspirin tablet into powder.
  2. Add a few drops of alcohol to make a paste.
  3. Apply the paste twice a day.

14. Aspirin and Cod Liver Oil Paste

  1. Crush aspirin to make powder.
  2. Add some code liver oil
  3. Apply the paste twice a day

15. Turmeric and Garlic Paste

  1. Crush a clove of garlic to make it juicy paste.
  2. Mix a little turmeric to form a thick paste.
  3. Apply the paste to the warts twice a day.

16. Kill them with Green Tea

Green tea is known for many health benefits. People drinking green tea regularly do not get warts.

  1. Boil water in the kettle.
  2. Pour the hot water into a cup and mix with some green tea leaves.
  3. Leave for 10 minutes.
  4. Drink the tea when it is yet warm.
  5. Also apply a few drops of the tea to the affected area.

15. Use Manuka Honey

It is highly antibacterial and has tons of health benefits. Just apply directly twice a day. Mixing it with cinnamon or turmeric works even faster.
