Fat around the stomach not only affects your shape, it may also causes serious health problem such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and even cancer.
If you find that your mid-section measures more than 35 to 38 inches, you need to seriously consider some fat blasting measures.
Here are a few easy steps which can help you get a flat stomach as well as reap some great health benefits.
1. Say No to Sugar
Never replace sugar with artificial sweeteners as they are even more dangerous than sugar itself.
If you absolutely cannot live without a sweet tooth, replace sugar with good quality organic honey.
2. Burn Fat While You Are Asleep
Yes, that is true. Sleep should be the biggest continuous single activity. Weight loss experts recommend that an eight hour sleep at night works wonder when it comes to losing belly fat.
Several studies have found that less sleep can adversely affect the general health as well as body weight.
Apart from the number of hours, it is essential to have quality sleep. Quantity and quality both matters.
Taking a table spoon of honey with cinnamon helps in treating insomnia thereby resulting in good quality sleep. Mike McInnes wrote an amazing book called the Hibernation Diet. The book actually explains how you can lose weight by taking honey before going to bed.
Honey and cinnamon also helps to lose weight and many people swear by its effectiveness.
3. Include Apple Cider Vinegar in Your Diet
Consume organic apple cider vinegar with your food. Apple cider vinegar has many health benefits including reduction of weight. It makes you feel full without consuming extra calories. It also makes the body alkaline and improving digestive system.
It is important to note that any kind of vinegar does not work. The best cider vinegar is the one which is organic, raw, unprocessed and even unfiltered and which contains mother. Bragg’s Organic apple cider vinegar is considered to be the best available in the market.
4. Stay Active with Exercise
Do not get frustrated! Exercise does not mean running 8 miles per hour on the treadmill. Yes, if you are already fit and enjoy some intensive activity, then go ahead. Cardio, weight lifting, running, jogging etc. are all beneficial when done rightly.
However, if your body or health cannot afford such strenuous activity, then any form of light exercise such as walking, strolling, aerobics etc. will do. Remember regularity and steadfastness is the key.
5. Hate Processed Foods
The food industry has bombarded us with processed foods which are high in artificial sweeteners, perseveratives and other unhealthy ingredients.
Processed foods also contain high amount of salt which triggers fat accumulation. Replace them with fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, and nuts. Simple life style changes such as avoiding processed foods and eating more fresh vegs and fruit can bring about significant improvement in the overall health.
6. Sharpen Your Hormones with Junk Food
What? I hear you screaming. Every single health expert and even non-expert says no to junk! You just said no processed foods! Is that not junk???
Yes, yes, you are right. I mean eat 90% healthy and you 10% junk now and then.
This actually serves two purposes: It helps burn fats by keeping your hormones sharp and it gives a psychological relief from the feeling of self-deprivation.
7. Say Absolutely No to Alcohol
I hear many health passionate people talking about consuming alcohol in moderation. I completely disagree. I am teetotal and recommend to completely abandon alcohol. The benefits are far less than the harms it causes physically, socially and morally.
Alcohol contains calories. It also slows down the function of liver which in turns slows down toxin elimination. A slow functioning lever gets in the way of building muscles and makes the body store more fat especially around the tummy.
Moreover, drinking alcohol is the cause of many social evils such as rape, murder, robberies, theft, incest, road accidents and so on.
8. Eat Fat to Reduce Fat
Does that seem illogical? Apparently, yes; but actually not.
I do not mean any kind of fat. According to Dr Oz eating food that contains more monounsaturated and polyunsaturated acids help burn excess baggage to flatten the stomach.
Olive Oil and nuts such as pine nuts, almonds and Brazil nuts are good sources of the monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats (MUFAs and PUFAs).
9. Enjoy a Cuppa of Green Tea
Green tea has many anti-oxidant properties. It helps digest the food in the stomach. Studies and anecdotal evidence show that drinking 3 to 6 cups of green tea on daily basis helps melt the fat around the stomach area.
10. Try a Proven Weight Loss Program
Sometimes, it is difficult to decide where to start. We live in an age of information overload. Many times, the information is confusing and conflicting. The only way out is to find suitable, reputable and effective program and then stick to it.
Dr Charles Livingston program on weight loss is an excellent way out of the information overload. He calls it Fat Loss Factor.
